Club SHG

We are a law firm with a widespread, geographic footprint which provides more extensive national coverage to meet our client’s needs. In order to facilitate this expansive network, our attorneys work remotely with the help of paralegals and support staff situated in our corporate headquarters in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

Working remotely certainly has its benefits. When you work from home the coffee is made just the way you like it, your day can begin without the stress of drive time or locating an in-demand parking spot, the dog will curl up at your feet, and clothing choices provide for some serious comfort. The upsides abound but after years of listening intently to the valuable feedback and input of our remote teammates, we have learned what one gains in commute time may be considered a sacrifice in camaraderie by another.

We understand that the social atmosphere and vibe that exists in a physical workplace is difficult to replicate for those working remotely. At BLG we are constantly adopting new ideas and technology to cultivate a supportive environment regardless of one’s work location.

One of the ways we encourage connection and collaboration is through our Club SHG program. Club SHG allocates funds for our team to co-work with colleagues around the country. This could mean traveling to sunny South Carolina to work in our HQ or meeting up with another attorney at a co-working space in their city and state.

In addition to Club SHG, we host firm retreats and more informal work fests in Pawleys Island on a regular basis. While many members of our team tell us they are refreshed just sitting together working side by side during these events, we make sure to fit in lots of bonding time over meals and during team building activities. By placing value on our personal connections, the bonds within our team improve communication, morale, and working relationships.  When a person experiences harmony in life and work , our families, clients, and colleagues take notice.
