Yesterday SHG Senior Associates Jessica Bulos, Alyssa Desgranges, and Alyssa Nugent presented a webinar addressing COVID-19 and its impact on reimbursement and collections in the Long-Term Care Industry.
The 90-minute webinar was a general overview of the various impacts of COVID-19 on Medicaid eligibility, appeals, and private collections. Content included challenges presented by visitor restrictions, shelter-in-place ordinances and the like and offer creative tips on overcoming these roadblocks. The presenters took an in-depth look of some of the 1135 waivers and discussed their impacts on Medicaid applications, processing, appeals and reimbursement. Additionally, they discussed Court closures and reviewed some of the regulations restricting collections and shared strategies for tackling these obstacles.
